Hi Bram, this piece is turning out great!
I have little to say, but I hope to help!
Is the yellow circle supposed to be the moon?
I ask you this because, for me, it looks like a very magical shiny piece of the man’s armor. If it’s the moon, I think I am misinterpreting cause the moon is so far away and there is nothing blocking the light that comes from it that all characters should receive more light. Also, it gives me this impression because the circle it’s too aligned with the man’s head. Maybe making a little bigger and putting a little bit to one side can help!
Hope I helped at least a little!
Hey Gabriela, thanks for the feedback! It’s meant as a halo/disc type of thing, part of the knights getup, but it’s a good shout, I should probably clear that up then, thanks!
I’m trying to think of a way to make all your characters as dynamic as your guy with the halo. All i can think of is to put some white highlights on the the reptile girl, like glitter size highlights in a determined pattern to suggest scales. I guess you could add some similar small details to the other characters. I looked at your website and I can tell that your awesome at suggesting detail with only a few brush strokes. So maybe not, but Craig Mullins says put contrasty detail where the form meets the terminator edge. To be that selective is somewhat beyond me. I’ve tried it with threads on fabric in a close up portrait but I think my problem was that I wasn’t small enough with the brush and I didn’t follow the form accurately enough. I downloaded a picture of Greg Rutkowski’s and was surprised at how sharpened and contrasty his textures were. When you zoom down to full screen they kind of blur together and make a gradient.

Just some random thoughts.
Thanks Corey, that’s definitely some good food for thought. I’ll look into those notes and give them a go!
