So..if this is ‘sideways’ is the man not at the bottom of the image? Hard to tell if the dragon is climbing down or up or sideways without knowing that. (Maybe the sideways problem has been fixed?)
I swear it was sideways! the blow to my head is completely unrelated! 😉
yes, this is looking correct now…
Looks pretty strong to me. Perhaps more detail on the dragon’s arms?
Thanks! Yeah, it’s still in progress, some arm details have been added since the photo, I’ll make surety add more there though!
I really like the dynamic of the painting, the strong diagonal especially. The main thing for me is the lighting on top seems to strong. Because it’s the brightest spot in the painting my eye keeps getting drawn away from the action to the top where nothing is happening. I think if you were to dull that light a bit and then up the fire near the dragon’s mouth to a near white color it would amplify the idea of heat, draw the viewers attention to the center and also bring it a wider rang of contrast from the center out.
Thanks, yeah, there was a glare in the photo. The final is up now. Thanks a lot for the feedback!
