This was a piece of art commissioned by a miniatures company to be used as box art for a new line. The brief requested art in the style of pulp paperback novels. The client was satisfied and I learned a bit, but would love feedback on how to push this further in the painting. It feels half-baked to me and I'm not sure how to take it further.

This is the cover for the latest issue of my personal project comic book series. I'd love any thoughts on how it could be improved in the drawing, lighting, rendering, concept.

This piece is a book cover for a client who's self-publishing their first fantasy novel. I pushed outside my usual comic-book style to go for a fully painted style with some organic rough edges in the execution. This is finished for the purposes of my client, but I'd love to have some outside feedback from experienced artists on how it could be improved.

Hi Steve! Your work is great, congrats!
I really liked this one, it has a very interesting composition.
What I see that could be improved on this one are two things related to the characters.
First thing is that the human silhouette on the back its much more cartoony than the characters on the front, making them look too different.
Second is, the two character on the front, by the way the composition is arranged I believe they are very important, but they don’t call much of my attention to them as the human silhouette on the back does. Their colors are to close to the colors of the pillar as wells as the values, making them disappear in front of it. However I also think they could be bigger, to have a bigger role on the illustration, and much more focus on them.
Hope I helped!
Keep up the good work, hope to see more of it here. 🙂
